The Executive Board has voted

We on the Executive Board apologize for the delay in reaching a decision, but had to balance three very fine proposals this year. The shame is that we could only select one site.

The majority favored the proposal by the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Each of the sites was notified by e-mail today of the decision.

The LHRT greatly appreciates all of the work by each of the three potential hosts. This is the first time in the history of the seminar that we had such competition for a site. It is a good sign for the future of research on library and print culture history.

We will look forward to sharing our research findings on the shores of Lake Mendota in the fall of 2010.

Update

Texas' proposal and the Ball State supplement are now online. Thank you to all three applicants for the fine proposal. I will send an electronic ballot to the Executive Board members in the coming days, so you can vote one month after that meeting.

Quick Update from the Committee Chair

We have received 2 proposals (Ball State University, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison). We are expecting a third proposal from the University of Texas at Austin.

A speaker from each site can present a 5-minute proposal at the LHRT Executive Board meeting (Sunday, 25 June 2006 at the ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans).

The Executive Board and site sponsors can make comments on this site. The Executive Board will vote via e-mail by the end of June.
